I'm moving to Macon in January, but the apartment I'm going to be renting is being remodeled and won't be ready until the 28th of January, so I will be needing somewhere to stay. Does anyone know of a decent and safe extended stay hotel in macon, georgia that has weekly rates or any other hotel that has weekly rates? If anyone can help I'll greatly appreciate it.

There is an Extended Stay hotel on Riverside Dr in north Macon. Rates look to start from $80.00. I will not tell you it is safe.

Extended Stay Hotel on Riverside Drive is very safe, for anybody who has read a Macon paper latetly, crime has dropped from 2006-2007 there is also the new Hilton Garden Inn off of Mercer University. By the way did anybody see the Oprah Favorite Things 2007, and her extended stay over the weekend. I dont think she wouldnt have stayed if she didnt feel safe, and for two days at that.

ANd where do you live so we can end this conversation, the lady is moving to Macon just like many other people are doing, and what much can you do about it but sit back and speak on crime, why people continue to see that Macon, and Bibb County is a great place to move, and they see the potiential with a new government. WOW, horray for you hold onto that job of talking bout crime, cause in bout 2 years it won't be there.

LOL!!! Wow! A mayor that can change 8 years of degeneration in 2 years!! Thats great M.O.M>!!! The VERY paper YOU mentioned stated that Macon had LESS than a 1% increase in population in a 5 YEAR span, while ALL surrounding counties increased significantly. So where are all these people you speak of that thinks Macon and Bibb county is a great place to move? Oh, and before you get really dilusional, just in case you dont understand how things truly are, development doesnt necessarily mean growth. There are MANY developments just sitting there with nobody in them. So please, just share the TRUE FACTS, not those twisted to fit your thoughts and agenda.

Im sure there has to be one safe hotel in macon. People more and more these days are letting the local news play pyshchological fear with them. The media is all about ratings, during commercial they needs eyes to watch their sponsors. Not going to keep alot of eyeballs if its just how great or friendly a city is.
