Should be interesting if everything pans out for this project.

"Downtown" WR is pathetic --- and has been for decades. It is going to take more than private investment from Texas to turn City Circle into a viable "destination." And thus far, WR political and business leadership has shown little initiative toward "fixing"' that part of town. It's much easier just to expand development out Watson Boulevard and down Houston Lake Road.

FAIL!

I agree with what your saying newsboy. However I think with current instability of robins and a possible BRAC, city leaders now they have to diversify the economy and actually turn that collection of strip malls and subdivisions into an actual city.

There is a need for a hotel with conference center space near Robins. Does it need to be on Commercial Circle? That's not a bad location for it. It also may not be the best though. As a regular attendee to many small conferences such as ones that would be hosted by said hotel...the one thing people want more than anything is restaurant options within walking distance. When you are out of town and tired you want a nice casual sit down meal and often a few drinks while you visit with colleagues.

Where in Warner Robins is this possible? Nowhere, but I never see it happening on commercial circle. Just think one could create this environment more easily elsewhere in the city if they can at all.

Revitalization only happens when there is a core demographic behind it. I never hear anybody except govt officials saying that Commercial Circle needs to revitalized. Compare it to Macon...there is a core demographic (professionals, artists, young people, Mercer, etc) all working to improve downtown Macon and it is making progress. Westgate and Eisenhower however....the mayor and some city council members talk about improving it, but...its never going to happen because 90+% of the community could care less.

I place Commercial Circle in the same category as Eisenhower Pkwy in Macon. Some officials are dreaming of days past, but the residents just don't care. Until more residents get involved, Commercial Circle won't be successful IMO.
