Starting next year, the Macon Coliseum will be filled with Doom.
The Georgia Doom, that is. That's the name of a new arena football team coming to town.
Spectra, the company that manages the Coliseum, briefed county commissioners Tuesday on what's new at the Centreplex.
They say the Doom is recruiting players and plans to start practicing here around New Year's Day.

The new team should create around 100 jobs, they say.
As preparation for each game, they'll place turf on the floor of the Coliseum.
