Macon-Bibb County leaders are scheduled to make a major economic development announcement at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Gov. Nathan Deal is making the announcement at Terminal Station in downtown Macon. A display set up at the event includes products from Irving Consumer Products Limited. According to its website, the company is "one of North America's leading manufacturers of premium quality private label & store brand household paper products, baby diapers, and children's training pants."
This is Great news for the City!!! Macon seems to be on Fire since Consolidation as far as construction and Jobs coming to the area... It would be nice to see some White Collar jobs in the mist of this Job growth as well..

I'm excited about all of the Growth and Development coming to Macon, But I agree I would love to see some White collar jobs come to the city.
Here are some of the recent highlights of the activity taking place in Macon.
• Contour Airlines will begin offering flights between the Middle Georgia Regional Airport and Baltimore-Washington International Airport
• Irving Consumer Products $400 million investment and employ more than 200 people in Phase I of its manufacturing facility.
• Macon-Bibb's Tyson Foods Distribution Center announces plans to expand to 345,000 square feet and add over 100 jobs.
• Kumho Tire USA opens $450 million, the plant Tire Manufacturing Facility
• FedEx Ground is building a 248,000-square-foot distribution center in the I-75 Business Park
• Guard Buildings LLC plans to open a 23,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Macon-Bibb County
• CJ Korea Express, part of the Korean based CJ Group, has established a logistics warehouse in Macon-Bibb County to serve Kumho Tire. The company has located in 33,000 square feet in Ocmulgee East Industrial Park
• $60 million development Central City Commons-Two hotels, one being a Hyatt Place, apartments, retail space and parking garages.
• Navicent planning new building for Children’s Hospital in Macon
• Lofts at Capricorn $25 million Development will include 82 one-bedroom apartments and 55 two-bedroom lofts.
• Lofts at Zebulon $30-million multi-use development
• Macon will soon be getting a new urban living space called The Lofts at Empire Yard (28 lofts)
• $495 million Interstate 75, I-16 interchange construction
