I am guessing the answer is "no" but I was wondering if there is any ability to commute from Madison to Oshkosh (perhaps from the far northeastern side). If so are there quaint small towns in that directions that one would recommend (say a cottage grove/middleton type of place in that direction that is perhaps its own "thing" but you can get to Oshkosh for work and Madison for fun.

Thanks!

I wouldn't want to drive that everyday. Beaver Dam is pretty much right in between Madison and Oshkosh.

Beaver Dam is in the center (farish from both areas),
Waupon is is a small town a little bit closer to Oshgosh
Comumbus is a small town closer to Madison
and Fond du Lac is adjacent to Oshgosh but a little far from Madison to be doing you grocery shopping and errands. The plus is, it's closer to Milwaukee as an alternative.

The drive is doable from any of those communities is doable...but it is an unusually long commute for the area. If you must do so..just pick the community that offers what is most important for you (being close to work). Even from Oshgosh you could make weekend trips to Madison..,

, Columbus and Fond Du Lac....

The drive from Madison to Oskosh is around 80 miles and some of that would be on a 2-lane highway. Even though the traffic on the roads you would take isn't real heavy-it's still close to like an hour and a half drive. I wouldn't want to do it.
