Hi - I am taking an informal survey to gather words that evoke the UW experience - the things that come to mind when you remember your days as a student. I am looking for landmarks, events and the like:
Bascom Hill
Camp Randall
Memorial Union
Bucky
Rose Bowl
State Street

Can you add anything to this list?

Thank you!

If you were one of the neo-hippie and/or indie (what I guess would today be considered "hipster") students... then yeah, Willy Street is where your scene was.

I think you're confused about where Dotty's is?

Of course my memories of Dotty's are from when it was right off of State Street before they got booted to make way for the Overture Center. I remember walking in there once on football game day to find a table of 75-year-old blue-haired ladies dressed in their red UW sweat shirts hoisting mugs of beer; and I thought to myself, "i'm in the right town."

Nope, there have been several incarnations of Dottys. The first was on Monoroe St. were Associated Bank(?) is now. Next, came the location on the corner of Regent and Monore and THEN to the location "right off State Street".
