We may be relocating to Madison with a new job. We are looking for realtors that handle rental homes, or just a rental home agency. Looking in rural type areas, Stoughton, Verona, Monona, Sun Praire etc. Can anyone recommend a good agency to find house to rent in these areas, are similar areas? Thanks for any help you can offer.

FYI the areas you mentioned aren't rural. Monona is surrounded by Madison and McFaland, Sun Prairie has sprawled into Madison's east side and Verona has sprwaled into SW Madison. Stoughton is the only community that you actually leave the urban area to reach...but it does have a small town feel yet is still within commuting distance. Other areas like this are Mount Horeb, Oregon, Waunakee and Cross Plains as they have a small town feel and are actually outside of the immediate surburban areas.

I would contact a realty office in Madison, they will most likely have info. If not, some realty company chain and search for it with the specific community name. Craigslist also. Good luck.

Almost all of the real estate companies in the Madison area have a relocation division that can help you. Moderator cut: real estate recommendation

There are a number of companies that handle rental homes, however, most will only rent the homes they have signed up not homes from other agencies.
I've also used Apartment Matchmakers in the past. They don't just do apartments, they also do rental homes.

Chelito is right the areas you are looking in are suburbs not rural areas. If you are looking further out you will want to use a relocation division as they will have more options.
Welcome to the Madison area!
