I lived in Madison - it is a great place to live but wages are low and house prices are high.. and a BA gets you nothing.

Milwaukee is the opposite.. wages are high (for BA's) and house prices are low. Lots of professional jobs and not many college degrees makes for good wages. Its also a good place to live.

When I lived in Madison in the 90s, the stereotype in those days was that your cab driver was likely to have a PhD.

And now your waitress is likely to have a B.S. degree and it is their full-time job. The guy pouring your beer might have a B.S. degree too.
