Not to worry a whole lot...I've lived in Middleton for 26 years, and I've had ONE tree break from a storm....thats all...Bad weather tends to always miss us for some strange reason...but thats just luck.

Live on or near the isthmus in Madison. There has never been a tornado through there as it is impossible given the arrangement/proximity with the lakes.

Not impossible, but very unlikely would be more accurate.

There was a weak waterspout on Lake Monona in September... it wasn't associated with a thunderstorm and I realize that's an entirely different phenomenon, but it's far from impossible to have a tornado on the isthmus.

That being said, there's really no reason to avoid moving there because of the threat of tornadoes.
