Well it doesn't bother me a rats behind that you seem to like to diss my hometown. Hell, I could even join in with you, but thinking Milwaukee is utopia is pretty hilarious

Well I stand corrected by the Milwcity spokesman *clapping* I am human and that was a TYPO! Sorry I never think of Milwaukee and utopia in the same context

I have heard many people in Madison say to others that Madison is a utopia of progressive ideas(whatever that means). As if the rest of Wisconsin is just Mayberry. Madison claims all this diversity however you can't find a conservative within 30miles of Madison.

Don't believe everything you hear Milwcity. There are a few republicans in my family. You have to remember the opinions, at least on this board, are only representative of a small number of people.

All the stuff on here about diversity is amusing as at the same time people are putting down different neighborhoods, sides of town, that have those diverse pockets.

On a whole you will find all kinds in Madison.

I totally agree with you MILWCITY. I just moved back to WI after living in Denver for 5 years, and I absolutely love Milwaukee now. The whole time I was in Denver, the only other big city I had enough experience with to compare it to was Milwaukee, and it totally didn't stack up. People live there for the mountains, not the city of Denver. Sure our winters suck here in WI, but there is no place on earth I would rather be in summertime than in Milwaukee. We just know how to have a good time here. And our city is very beautiful and underrated.

As far as Madison being diverse? Not so much. They talk a lot about multiculturalism but Madison is 84% white versus Milwaukee which is only 44% white.

I actually have a friend living in Denver and he tells me Denver is six times bigger than Milwaukee. LOL!!! I had another relative a UW-Madison Grad and she told me " don't you know Madison is actually bigger than Milw" LOL!!! Some people are just not as informed as citydata'rs.

Denver city: 590,000
Denver Metro: 2,400,000

Milw City: 605,000
Milw Metro: 2,000,000.

Just goes to show getting into the UW Madison, doesn't necessarily denote brilliance

Why does everybody in Madison put such a heavy importance on diversity, its like they always have to keep telling people how diverse Madison is. I have a family member who just moved there and all she could talk about was how diverse Madison is, I guess when you come from Deerfield,WI. Oh by the way she has never been to Chicago or Milwaukee.
