Looking for decent quiet apartments in a western suburb of Madison 2 bedrooms if possible not exceeding $1200 a month in rent if possible pet friendly. Am I better off looking elsewhere around Madison such as Sun Prairie or is there some decent quiet apartments west of Madison as well. Thanks

I would first ask, where is work or school located and is city transit required? As it can take quite awhile to cross town in rush hour so living closer to work/school is usually the first option to check into

Decent and quiet are somewhat subjective. Are there amenities you need or want? Is access to public transportation important? Quiet means all mature neighbors without kids or quiet means not on a major street?

If you want to be conveniently located to the west side of Madison and Middleton I would look at areas south of the Beltline off High Point Rd, south to McKee Rd in that vicinity. However, prices may be moving up quickly due to the expansion of Epic Corporation and additional hiring/expansion there.

I would guess you work at Epic?

West, I'd choose Cross Plains or Blue Mounds area. Gorgeous!

Otherwise, south (Stoughton and Oregon) is a very nice area.

Thank you for the replies. Ended up with a house. Didn't think I'd end up with it, since other offers were before my offer. No kids here, was looking for an apartment in a non busy area, or quiet street and amenities not important. Next, public transportation not important; either, as I have a car and drive. I was looking out in the suburbs for an apartment for a little bit as prices drop the further away from Madison you get to a point. Thanks again for the replies
