Any Epic employeees are hard at work, probably not hanging around here in the local community forum. Here is the search done on Madison, Epic 19 threads:

Since you are an IT guy, I am sure you can do other searches too. You should be reading back through the threads in this Madison forum. Lots of good stuff there.

There is a LOT of stuff about Epic on the internet, as their hiring procedures and work environment are very unique and... yeah, definitely take a hard look before you decide to work there.

Since this isn't specifically addressed in the other threads:

How often would a software developer be expected to work past 6:00 on weekdays, or at all on weekends?

Epic has a reputation of hiring young college grads and harnessing their youthful energy to put in extremely long hours. They have the reputation of "using 'em up, and spitting them out."

Does the reputation reflect the reality? Depends on who you ask. I know several people quite well who work there or have worked there. Some love it, others hate it, but overall it seems to me to like any other large company. There are good things about working there and bad things.

Personally, I would hate to have the kind of career that requires you to be in front of a computer screen for 10 hours a day. But that's just me.
