We still haven't had a killing frost here in Freeport. We've had light frost but no freezes. When I was in the North Maine Woods last week there was a hard freeze one night. It got down into the low 20's. We had ice in the tea kettle in the morning!!

We had our first frost Saturday morning and one every morning since. That's late for us.

We had a good HARD frost last night. I had to scrape before heading to market this morning. I haven't been out to see the gardens... crossing my fingers for the chard and leeks and lettuces and spinach. I had the crew put out row covers on the greens today (hoping it is not a day late... I had the thought yesterday but insufficient time).

I'll know tomorrow. low was 25 here on Hearthfire Hill in Corinth over night.
