Hi,
I've been in Maine 3 months now and I'm in real need of a very experienced
ethnic hair stylist. I need a touch up on my relaxer. Does anyone know of someone who has lifetime professional experience with ethnic hair (ie. African American)?

Default Ethnic Hair Care

Hi,

Did you ever find a hair stylst? I am planning to move to Maine in March and I will need to have my hair relaxed also. I was hoping not to drive all the way to Boston!

I'll have to follow this post. Although I only once in a great while relax my hair, I sometimes get an urge to get a really short cut. Even though my hair is fine and very tightly curled, I've found that some local barbers get nervous. One guy told me that certain ethnic organizations on military base used to "test" various services for accommodations.

There is a lady in Milford, she owns "The Hair Hut" she has some experience with ethnic hair. I used to take my niece there. She did a great job on very damaged hair.

A friend of ours has an African-American adopted daughter and she's reaching the age where she wants more than pigtails. So if anyone knows of an ethnic hair specialist in the midcoast area, please let us know.

I have heard there is only one person in Bangor for ethnic hair. I guess you just have to find them. Good luck, I have a horrible time trying to find ethnic hair products.

Hello James. Are you still in Maine? We have relocated to the area and I am looking for a stylist in this area.

Did anybody find a good salon for black hair in Maine at all? I just moved up here due to my job and I've had zero luck finding one. My hair is in dire need of a touch up.
