Hello, My family and I are moving from Colorado to Kittery Maine next month. I am hoping to get some feedback on Dr's in the area, particularly an OBGYN, an ENT and a General Family practice. What hospital would you recommend that has an EXCELLENT labor and delivery center? My kids are very active in their 4-H groups so we will be looking for one to join. My son is in Archery and shooting sports, I hear they have good programs in the area for that???? I am also looking for a dance studio for our daughter, Particularly one that teaches "clogging". We are also VERY excited to be near the beach again. Are there fees charged for beach entry?
My husband will be at the PNS , he is also a Naval Reservist. Does anyone have any info about the Fitness center at the base? I love Zumba classes and belong to a yoga studio now and would love to continue, but at a much less expensive monthly membership.
Finally whats the night life like for "ADULTS" not 21yr olds and not a College bar, we've had all of that we can take..lol
Thanks I look forward to your reply's

You might want to consider extended your search into NH.. That area of NH is much more populated than Maine and it stands to reason that it might offer more in the way of choices for doctors and where to go to have a baby...

One of my wife's best friend's has had all 3 of her kids at the York Hospital. We have been there to visit each time and it seems like a very good hospital. Her friend gives it top ratings.
No beach charges here.
There are lot's of good bars in Portsmouth, not sure about the ages. I don't go out much for that same reason! I have a relative and a couple of friends that work at PNS and they seem to like it there. Good Luck!

Hello
My husband and I will pretty much be in the same boat about two years from now, I am a nurse and research health care providers obsessively before trying them out for a good fit. Beyond recommendations from local friends, neighbors, and family, here are a few supplemental on-line tools to assess hospital & physician locations and to some degree quality of care. Note these are form a medicare.gov website BUT the data for hosital and physyicans may be a useful tool for anyone. The getbetterMaine site was just released last week, and I think it is very consumer friendly. Best wishes & Take Care.
