Thing's I will miss in Maine:
1. My family
2. Being able to visit the cemetaries where my family member's are buried.
3. ***** Willow's
4. Cat Tail's
5. My home and the beautiful property that it is on.
6. Picking wild stawberries(the kind that are free).
7. Picking wild rasberries (also the kind that are free).
8. Rubharb sp??
9. Pine Cones that you don't have to buy just pick them up off the ground.
10. Fiddlehead's (Try describing these to someone that has never heard of them).
11. Maine Trout
12.Seeing a wild animal on the side of a road. (Deer,Moose,Fox, Turkey's etc.)
13.Going in a farmer's field after they have harvested their crop's and getting what has been left free potatoes and brocolli and the farmer's in my area don't care.
14. The beautiful wildflower's
15.And Apple tree's I like the apple's but I also love the differant shapes of the tree's.
Next thread I will post will be thing's I hate about Maine.I will be as truthful about that as I am about what I will miss about Maine.Have a great Day! What are the thing's you love?

I love picking the heather that grows on the beach where we have our bonfires. Then at Christmas, putting that same heather in the boughs of the tree

Watching the tides and the fog roll in. Also got to watch a sunrise...not to mention seeing the whales, purpoises, harbour seals, and eagles.

You are back! Nice thread.
I don't live there yet - but I want to, and things I liked when we have visited:
+ the smell of pine in the air when you walk outside
+ the lobster and other seafood (sorry know it's sooo typical, but I really do - I still love oranges in FL too)
+ all the fruit you mentioned before (except the rhubarb)
+ lower crime ( I swear I'm not trying to start trouble here - it really is one of the reasons I like the area - compared to my home state)
+ love the rocky beaches and beautiful ponds
+ loons, moose, bald eagles, etc

You're welcome glad to see your feeling better. Do you think people that aren't from Maine will no what ***** Willow's are? Funny the first word was blanked out?? Maybe you can explain what they are.

Call them cattails instead, I think some people use that word instead of *****willows.

nope, cattails are different....the um...kitty willows are soft furry buds along a branch...maybe someone has a pic? lol...

Cattail? Not sure if this is what you're talking about, but I cut it out of the yard yesterday to decorate a little.
