Frost free days right here are usually June 1 to late September. This year I got hit on September 6. You can start planting some things as soon as the soil dries enough, usually late April/early May.

Funny that's the same length as the growing season that I now have in Ohio/ Unfortunately, all my backyard is shaded so no good spots for a vegie garden.

A large group of us just went to Goughan's Berry Farm in Caribou for the corn maze this past Saturday. We had a wagon ride to and from the corn maze. The weather was perfect! They have delicous coffee Oreo ice cream - yum! We brought home a pumpkin, too. Well worth the ride there and back.

Thanks! It was a lot of fun. I think the part I liked best was the wagon ride. There were two flatbeds (?) behind the tractor, and we were on the last one. The sun was warm, the breeze was fresh and cool, and the ride past the fields and trees was slow, quiet, and relaxing. I wasn't born and raised a rural girl, but I'm definitely not 'citified' any longer.

7th Generation and Maine Writer - nice pics!

dramamama6685 - My husband and I have been to Eastport a couple of times. I can't remember the name of it, but there's a restaurant there with excellent fish dinners! Why do you want to move there (if you don't mind my asking)?
