Hi everyone,

So I moved up here to Maine now five years....pretty amazing when I think about it. I moved up from NYC and actaully got most of my info when I moved up from the nice people on this website and really apprecaite it. Five years later, I am hooked on Maine.

I now moutainbike, ski, have gone white water rafting down three of the big rivers, love the people and that says a lot coming from a kid who didn't think he could ever live outside NYC. Now I hate going to the city...and can't imagine moving back.

I recently was down in Texas and got my first encounter with guns. I went down to a gun range and took a class on hand guns and surprised myself with how much I liked it and really wanted to know if anyone knows a good place where I could find a nice shooting range. I havn't really decided on what gun I would like to invest in, so would like to know a place that has gun rentals.

I live up in auburn and hope someone could help me out.
I just don't wanna lose what I learnt and would like to keep shooting to see if I can get good at it.

would love to hear about any places you think I should check out.
All I found that looked attactive was a place in Saco called weaponcraft, but not sure they have rentals

Thanks!

~mikey

I agree, but he wanted something near Saco. It would be a full day trip, but the trip up from Saco is worth it.

It's the only one that I know about. He may have to use google to find one closer.

The Weaponcraft indoor range is still under renovation. I would suggest the OP check out the Androscoggin County Fish and Game Association. They have an indoor range for members. No rentals, but you can't go wrong with an inexpensive .22 for starters. It will keep your skills sharp until you decide what to buy next. Fellow members may also let you try theirs.

There are gun clubs that host Appleseed events. Appleseed - Search States for an Event

So far there are not any scheduled for 2015, should be a couple events on the calendar soon.

Every year there is also a '3-day Hiram Maxim shoot' in the Dover-Foxcroft area.

Where can you shoot machine guns? Is there any place that rents them like a range or someplace?

The Maine Military Supply rents them. There is also a range in Manchester, NH (Manchester Firing Line Range) with a lvariety to choose from.
