Hi all!

Since I've been in the cleaning business (or as I like to call it, domestic engineering ) for many years, do you think there would be a market for this type of business in the Bangor area? Thanks for any insight you may have!

We are in a very small town and there are 2 relatively successful home cleaning busibesses here. One of the ladies knows a lot of people with rental property and does a lot of "between tenants" cleaning as well as a couple of banks.

I'm on a waiting list for a house keeper from May through mid-November. I think you could make a living at this just about any where in Maine.

Thanks so much for responding! I would prefer to start up my own small business again instead of working for a company. Although it takes a while to build up, I look forward to the challenge. Thanks for your input!

Do it right.

Get insured.

Keep Material Data Safety Sheets on file for all your chemicals.

Work your ass off, and retain references.

It's worth about $20+/hr. for a good cleaning service. Don't forget you have to pay the entire FICA nut.
