I live too far away. Even when we were in Maine, we were nowhere near downeast. I could be an honorary ya-ya.

Aw thanks

I've been extremely homesick the past few days and would love to be able to look forward to meeting everyone, but I know it's not going to happen...at least not this summer.

Maybe you could all have a lemonade in my honor when you all get together?

From a male point of view being a ya-ya is a state of mind. Of liking to sit on the deck, overlooking a beautiful water scene, kicking back, and talking with people of like minds. Loving nature and appreciating a beautiful afternoon help also. If you fit that category, then you are a ya-ya. No matter where you are, you are still a ya-ya.
So, even if you can't be there in person, I am sure the ladies will raise their glasses and toast to all those ya-ya's who cannot be there in person, but are there in the spirit of a ya-ya.

Gee,... definitions of "Ya-Ya's".......... It started, I believe because of the close relationship that developed between some of the wonderful people that post here. Kinda reminded me of the charactors from the book/movie. As there are a lot of "spiritual", "nature observing" ladies that have reffered to themselves as "witches" (sometimes tongue in cheek I'm sure)... I almost called them the "Ya-Ya Coven". I didn't want to offend anyone though.
I had a definate picture of dancing around a bonfire in mind when I thought of the "Ya-Ya's"

And sometimes NOT so tongue in cheek... I think of the book about the YaYa sisterhood myself, so no, not a coven... but as close a bond as a good coven (or any other sisterhood... ) should be.
