hopefully they start chopping these entitlements... It's very hard for people who are used to getting so much money in entitlements to see this free money disappear.

Wow, such nonsense. If you didn't know the answer to the original question perhaps you should not have replied.

A PPO plan, or Preferred Provider Organization, allows you to visit whatever in-network physician or healthcare provider you wish without first requiring a referral from a primary care physician.

MaineCare is more like an HMO, in that you are required to choose a doctor for primary care, case
management and referrals to specialists.

Social security, SSDI and Medicare are "entitlements." You are ENTITLED because you paid into the system. Medicaid and SSI are welfare. Thousands of children and disabled adults in Maine are on Medicaid. Mainecare is the State of Maine administration of Federally funded Medicaid. 70 to 75% of Maine's Seniors in Nursing Home Care are on Medicaid. Nursing homes run about $10,000.00 a month. Nobody receives "free money" for healthcare, it is paid directly. Clearly, there are those that would prefer they lived under a bridge and stayed out of sight, or simply disappeared. Happy holidays.

Medicaid in any state (Maine included) is like an HMO. You choose a primary care doctor and referrals to specialists are made through that doctor.
