I had a Ford 2N made in 1947. It started hard in very cold weather. I bought an 8 volt battery. Yes, they do make such a thing. Never had a problem starting again. It would charge up to about 7.8 volts. If you are thinking about buying an older tractor, make sure it has a 2 stage clutch so you can stop the vehicle motion and the snow blower still runs.

Never get off the tractor with the snowblower engaged. You could slip on the ice and ruin the rest of your afternoon.

As to working in remote areas. When I am going to be in an area where I would not want to spend a couple of days going out on snowshoes, I bring survival equipment with me. Where is your winter sleeping bag? In the attic? I have an extra can of gas (real gas) and a generator to charge my battery if it gets very cold. I was at a sled dog race years ago and a driver lost much of his coolant due to a leak. We used an Alaskan Highway repair with the hose and three of us each donated a gallon of cold weather windshield washer fluid. It makes a pretty good expedient antifreeze for a truck.

I know guides in Maine who have a fitting on their fuel line to take an outboard motor gas line. That can get you home in a pinch.

Replace the battery, and with the new one- make sure the car runs long enough to recharge it all the way. ( ie - if a short trip- let it idle longer. etc. ).
Secondly- we have a "jump and carry" ( forgot the actual name of it) but it is a hand carry jump start machine. You charge it initially, which takes about 8 hours, and it will jump start anything.
We got it when we have a 28 foot Winnebago motor home.
I do not remember what size it is, but it was a beast to start a 454 engine. It has 900 cranks of amp. Would jump start a tractor trailer LOL

Similar to this one in size and amps, but we did not pay anywhere near 350 dollars for it.

Our neighbors put a quilt over the hood of their car in a storm. ( attached with a bungee to the wheel well... a bit extreme but seems to work. )

/edit- Like your name user name !

Yep, that's exactly what I did,
I moved up here last aug.
Paid $200 for a good battery, $50 for jump starter from HF and changed oil to full synth 5/30. Always starts right up.
No way I'd live up here near houlton without a garage.
