Thanks! I'm on Cutler Rd., but will actually be in East Machias.

Does anyone know of the closest storage unit in the area? Yes, i'm Googling also. I see one in Perry and Jonesport, each 41 minutes away. Not to bad i guess.. Not sure how many times we'll have to go back and forth with my truck - but probably many.

We have to rent for 2.5 weeks til closing there. Sucks. So all of things have to be stored.

I appreciate all the comments etc. We are getting very excited. I loved NJ growing up (at the shore), but as a retired person it's no good. My family also traveled to Maine every year, and yes i've been up there in the Winter. Not for an entire Winter though! But this is an adventure. I'm almost 59 and my guy is 64. It's time to take the plunge. We want to have some water we can look at and sit by. And i hate the heat.

There was a storage facility in Steuben and Cherryfield, both about 30 miles away. Sorry.

I'd be excited too. You can go through all the ups and downs and tell us about so we know what to expect ...

Could Columbia, Maine be "Indian Twp." on the Mapquest webiste? I'm trying to put in for directions to Wright's Storage and it won't let me use their address and zip of Columbia, it gives me a lot of other choices. None with the Columbia zip they have as their address.

Thanks.

Of course we're getting the U-Haul tomorrow, the day our latest 2-day Nor'easter starts here in Jersey. Should be fun loading it with furniture and 200 boxes...

I give up.

We start driving up on Thursday. All i can do is hope for the best.

(YES, i'm still excited about the move as a whole. It's just been majorly stressful!!)
