Hi I currently live in southern Maine and am looking to move and make a change I love the small town feel of the town I currently live in but want to try a new place. This is what I'm looking for in a new town:

- Im looking for a town that has a school because I have my Ed Tech 2 Certification and would like to use it to work with kids.

- Has places I can rent for under $1000 because I would prefer to not have to have a roommate. but if the town or city was nice I wouldn't mind.

- Don't mind any kind of weather because its Maine and at least we get 4 seasons.

- Would like there to be at least a few stores in the town a live. I would like to be able to do my grocery shopping locally.

- Friendly people I would like a town where I could make friends and being single maybe meet someone.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

But they are pretty different in some ways. Coastal will cost more for rent.

You could look at the websites of grocery stores located in Maine to help you choose a town. If one or more of these stores is located in a town, there's a really good chance you will find at least one school as well. Of course some towns have schools and no grocery stores.

Tradewinds Markets in Maine https://www.tradewindsmarkets.com/

Shop 'n Save grocery stores in Maine https://www.google.com/search?client...E,lf:1,lf_ui:4

Hannaford website https://www.hannaford.com/custserv/locate_store.cmd

Walmarts in Maine

You can search Craigslist for minimum and maximum monthly rent amount. Here are the results for Maine minimum $600 maximum $800. https://maine.craigslist.org/search/...date=all+dates

Here are Craigslist search results Maine minimum $300 maximum $500 monthly rent amount. https://maine.craigslist.org/search/...date=all+dates

I have started to see that in my search so I think I will be staying away from the coastal towns. I currently live in southern midcoast Maine and can see how pricey that can be.

Damariscotta is a pleasant little town on the coast that is relatively small, but has a Hannaford supermarket, a library and some things going on (population listed as 2,200), and it's not too expensive... business seems on the upswing... another town like that is Belfast...

I would look at jobs first and then narrow it down by where you get job offers. The schools here can be very far away from each other in many areas so if you move somewhere and don't get a job fairly close, you could be miserable even if the place is nice.

Many school systems seem very much in need of Ed Techs. This link should help you jump start your search for an Ed Tech II position. Looks like Gray/New Gloucester needs several. https://www.servingschools.com/search
