My system would probably be better off without the extra lead, too.
Yikes.

I always figured it was less painful to do the cutting on ones self... though I can do a decent suture...

One of the girls on the volleyball team needed a number marked out on her shirt. When the AD volunteered to do it for her and get the shirt back to her in time for the game she said she could do it. When she showed up in uniform she'd used Duct Tape to mark out the number...

My pumpkin died! It exploded and died and is leaking and shriveling all over my porch. It's only been out there for two weeks, but that's what happens in this heat! That sucks!! Poor thing didn't even make it to Halloween.

Not all the Maine pumpkins are going to make it either... one of mine is rotting... I hauled it out to the porch but it needs to find its way the rest of the way to the compost. But I still have one from the garden and one I bought alive and kicking.

Since we may have a handful of kids -- no more -- for Halloween (long, over-the-fence chat with the horse lady neighbor this morning...) I will likely carve the garden one on the 30th, so I can have it for my "Season of the Hex" open studio in the afternoon on Friday and then light it (with a night light, electric, so it doesn't get all sooty) for trick or treat. Once we turn off the porch light, I'll start cooking it down.
