Wouldn't it be more productive to talk with the tv station than complain here?

I LOVE thunderstorms! By far, the best thing about Maine summers.

Eight.

This is absurd.

Yes, Maine Writer, I know that there are far worse things that can happen to me than not being able to watch Sportscenter before I go to work. I could say the same about any piece of unnecessary idiocy that might drive you nuts. But really, can you not see how a whole summer of this nonsense might drive a person batty?

I say again, a functioning adult should be able top watch a weather forecast, look out of his window, hear thunder, and take appropriate steps. We simply do not need screetching warnings every ten minutes. It puts the lie to the notion that Mainers are self-sufficient.

Would it be too much to ask that the full-screen screetching warnings be replaced by a silent crawl at the bottom of the screen? Can we meet there?
NO!!
There were tornadoes imbedded in these storms schizuki! The NWS is trying to keep you alive! Tornadoes are not common to Maine so when they are present it IS cause to activate the EANS. Besides you obviously have a computer you can use to get your sports scores! Not everyone has the TV and radio running 24/7 so it is NECESSARY to repeat the warnings to reach the maximum number of people in the warning area! Scrolling script does not work well for visually impaired people or radio! It's really hard to fathom how someone could complain about an emergency warning!!! Your rock is calling!

Just got back from bringing my mom to a doctor appt. In the waiting room a man was saying that he had just heard a tornado had just ripped thru NH and destroyed a couple of houses, up near Fryeburg, I think. He was called in before we could get the info out of him!!
