They don't like rich soil. Sand is prefered.

Well given that, Beaufort NC should have been perfect for them... it's at the BEACH for pity sake and there is no nutrition to speak of in the soil unless one puts it there. No rocks either <g>

We went! panem et circenses

I attended the Weeds workshop. I learned a great deal and though: "aquila non capit muscas"

I attended the workshop of growing grapse, which was wondrful.

I went to the 'Wind power" workshop, and to one on "home brewing"; which focused primarily on mead. calix meus inebrians

Then I went through a "Herb Walk' where we located and tasted many local herbs growing wild in amongst the weeds.

ubi mel ibi apes

A splendid time was had by all!

I met KAF and her Dh, and her parents.

Well I am sure that you would have had a great time!

Bare-foot folks with flowers in their hair and big smiles were everywhere.

I even caught a brief whiff [or three] of, of a type of tobacco I think. It seemed to remind me of a tobacco that I may have smoked once long ago. Or not. I can't be sure.

Either way, you should truly go, have fun and enjoy yourself.

Oh dear Forest, I fear you and I might be of the same generation... I however didn't inhale. Except on Wednesdays and possibly on Thursdays and quite possibly on Fridays but I swear it never effected me. Not once. I'm fine. No, really I am. What? Did you say something? I could have sworn I saw your lips move. Huh? Say what? Are you messin' with me?
