Used to be able to get cans of Maine air from the Look Canning Company (owned by my cousins until they sold out to a conglomerate a few years ago).

Don't know how cold it got in my little valley last night but the thermo memory just said "LO"...and I've seen it at -15 last winter...must have been a malfunction...too early to get *that* frosty.

It's already down to 37*. I don't remember so many frosts and below freezing nights in September.

We have had frost on the ground every morning before dawn since the "first hard freeze" a bit ago. Some mornings more, some less.. but every morning the dog leaves footprints, and I have been either bringing in or covering my herbs and stuff in planters. Except last night, I forgot and yes, siree.. it got the basil. The Bay tree seems ok though and the other herbs are fine.

But I have got the shelf unit that I was going to put in front of the south living room window for the boxes ready to set up and this is their last night out. I may take them out in the morning, but I will consider them "living" in the house until spring now.
