I'm getting nervous about this massive storm they've got going up there. Please tell me it should all be over and cleared before our trip in 13 days.

The snowstorm during the valentines holiday has been cleared (if that is the one you are talking about). I didn't see any storms in the next 5 days so I'd say-come on up! Guess one can never predict the weather too far down the road but I'd guess you are ok.

I'm talking about the storm going on right now that encompases several of the states we'll be driving through on our way there. I took this from this morning's news clip...

"The National Weather Service posted blizzard and winter storm warnings for parts of Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington, D.C. "

Most of it's going south of us - we have some snow showers predicted, but the last several times they've said "snow showers", we got beautiful, sunny weather.

One thing I've noticed about Maine weather forecasts is that they can't get it right 6 hours in advance, let alone 10 days.

I don't know what route you'll be taking, but in 13 days, everything in the other states should be cleared up. Here in Maine, the roads were drivable the day after the Valentine's Day blizzard.

msjl is correct, if doctors, diagnosed patients, like meteorologists predict weather, all the doctors would be in jail.

May I ask where you saw this storm report? I am heading out myself and passing through many of the same states you mention.

Anything that happens now will be a dim memory by the time you head north. Highways are generally cleared and open within 12 hours after the snow stops falling even in Pennsylvania. D.C. may take a few hours longer. Anything over an inch there paralyzes the region -- too bad it doesn't do the same for Congress.

Thanks. I can't postpone my trip so I'll go slow and easy and hope to miss the white stuff and its aftermath!

LOL

I truly mean no insult.

Relax, dont worry.

We get snow, it is no big deal.

Folks seem to freak out over snow.

We get a few inches to a foot and within hours it is cleared from the roads.

Come on up
