Couldn't you use a hairdryer to blow hot air under the dishwasher?

There was no wind so that helped . I have always said that I feel colder at 30 degrees than I do when it's below zero. It must have to do with the dryness to the air when it's very cold. We caught three dozen smelts.
Very interesting about the cold Does anyone else feel this way about sub zero temps?

We lost the power at around 5:00 AM for an hour and a half this morning. DW took her toiletries to work where they have showers. She was less than pleased. Even with the woodstove going the house was getting real chilly by the time the power was restored.

Funny you should mention that msina. I burned out DW's blowdryer the last time the pipes froze. She was standing there with wet hair calling me all kinds of choice names. I found an old travel hair dryer for her to use which was "better than nothing" as she put it. She bought a new hairdryer and told me to find another way to thaw out the dishwasher pipe! I pulled off the front kickplate to the dishwasher and put a small window fan on the floor. If the room is warm enough it thaws out in about 5 minutes and after I run it it's good for the day.

I took the trash out to the curb today wearing a zip up fleece hoodie and at first it didn't really feel that cold to me, until I felt the tiny hairs inside my nose freeze. Kind of makes you feel like you have to go blow your nose.

It probably has more to do with the fact I don the long johns in December and have built a tolerence for cold by the time the sub zero stuff arrives.
