Does anyone know where you can get it on the coast? The gas with 10% ethanol down here is $2.63 a gallon. But ever since that crap was put in it, my fuel economy has suffered. I did the math out yesterday. 10% ethanol at $2.63 a gallon is the same as paying $3.50 a gallon for plain old gasoline in my vehicle. Guess they didn't lower the price by all that much after all.

Anyway, does anyone know of a station that doesn't put that junk in the gas?

I think all stations put it in...I haven't seen any stations that don't put it in and I've been everywhere from Maine to Sarasota, FL over the last week.

Isn't it a requirement for gas to be 10% ethenol now? I heard they are trying to up it even higher.

Those are the words I didn't want to here. I absolutely hate that crap. It is killing small engines, and making me spend exorbitant amounts for fuel.

My gas mileage went from 26 miles to the gallon, to 18 when they put the ethanol in the gas.

Make sure you use it within 30 days or so...... Also make sure to put in the marine fuel additive (every store has it stacked up). I am not sure that it helps much, however. I have some small engines which will NOT run with the ethanol crap... I am sure it is a conspiracy. Now, where did I put my tinfoil hat???

Marinas and airports are the only facilities where one can purchase "pure" gas nowadays.

I suspect the only place you can get ethanol free fuel is at a marina. The ethanol plays havoc with fuel tanks on boats. It has a tendency to dissolve the plastic lined tanks and plastic gas lines. Down here in FL many boat owners found last spring that the fuel systems were corroded from the ethanol. It was a major repair job and fuel system overhaul.

Oops 7th....I didn't see your post, my bad!

I don't know of anywhere that doesn't have it in the gas either.

I've distinctly noticed a knock in the engine when I start my car 'tho and I don't think it's performing as well as it did since I started seeing that ethanol was added.

You can buy a product by Sta-bil to put in the gas to counter the ethanol. I use it in all my small engines.

Ethanol gas is mandated by State Law, or Baldy Decree, or maybe its the Legislatures prelude to Cap and Trade.

Up to a week ago Tideway Market (Irving) in Hancock still was ethanol free. But we noticed the Irving in Columbia Falls already had it when we stopped there on Tuesday.
