Default WhhoooHoo!

Good for you! I loved that area -- in fact, I want to move to Thomaston, but so far my husband is nixing the idea. (Keeping my fingers crossed.)

After you get settled, be sure and visit the lady that makes rag rugs Rockland (?) in her garden shed. We met her while walking around the neighborhoods just out of the business district. She was pert and friendly, and though we didn't buy a rug, she tipped us off to the local favorite hotdog stand, and the local library.

I hope you keep us posted on all your discoveries.

Thanks so much everyone! We're settling in nicely. Stil lots of unpacking to do, but making progress every day. (We still don't have internet, so I'll be checking in every few days from the library.)

Sunday was great. We took a break from unpacking and walked to town. I think people watching will be a new hobby for us.

I've already picked up 2 cleaning jobs, plus possibly a few more next month. Can't wait to get settled with the working part of this adventure too!

I'll post pics soon! Bye for now!

Sorry that I did not get back to you quickly. We have found loving homes for each puppy that we wanted to adopt out.

The mother is a large Husky mix ~90lb, she does not bark nor howl, a completely silent dog. Laid back and gets along with the rest of our livestock very well. She does not chase cars, nor jump on visitors. She is not afraid of thunder and she seems to understand our property boundaries fairly well. She is a great asset to our farm and we would benefit greatly from having more like her.

The father is a big boxer mix with black/red brindling, playful, energetic and very easily wound-up. We gave him to another home, as he killed numerous chickens while trying to play with them.

We have given away all of the puppies that we are not keeping for ourselves.

In the process, we received an interesting assortment of messages from animal 'lovers' who insist that we are idiots for allowing our livestock to breed, and a few who wish I would die rather than continue to allow livestock to breed.

Lovemaine- I look forward to seeing your photos!

It is wonderful to hear that you have gotten employment so quickly.

Thanks, Nancy! Yes, Frank the cat has calmed down a lot. He's back to his old self. What a relief!

So how are you settling in? Are you loving it? I am so envious I am sure I must be green on the inside, lol. My hubby and I are still in the saving phase, coming up with the purchase funds for our future property. Maybe in a few more years we can say we are officially property holders too. Congrats again on your closing, and I am glad to hear Frank has gone back to normal.
