Cape Cod as well, but the Boston weather folk just said it would be a 'very' weak Cat 1 as it goes over, AND we're in the middle of the 'cone' area, so it could wobble to the right some and follow more along the path of Bill last week.

I'm set to go back to Maine tomorrow. Now I don't know whether to go or stay. Geesh. What a weird summer with the weather!

I don't think they're expecting it to be much of anything by the time it gets this far, and it's WAY too far away to predict its course with any accuracy at this point. I've watched hurricanes headed straight into our Texas coast and take a hard right or left within hours of reaching us. Always a crap shoot!

I can say, after living my life running from hurricanes on the Gulf Coast, it's pretty cool to be able to stick around and watch them pass by Maine!

I bet it's a great relief to be on the watching end vs. the running away from them end.

You're right... this storm doesn't look to be much by the time it gets here...IF it gets here.

The cool weather slows it all down.. even us.

We should expect the usual turnout along the coast to watch the big waves, swells and tidal surges. The front page of today's Bangor Daily news partially explains it:

"I saw the wave and you could definitely tell it was bigger. We started backing up. We turned around toward the woods, and it was right there. I got hit."

Twenty people ended up in the water last weekend. There is no reason to expect anything different for this weekend.

It doesnt get much better than today......cool, dry, clear, sunny.....I have gotten more done this morning than I got done the previous two weeks of high humidity and heat! As far as the hurricane.....I guess I will take it as it comes. I am not complaining or worrying....I will have to deal with it....as for now.....I am living in the moment and this moment is pretty spectacular.
