I don't. We have snow on the ground but the temps are warmer than they were last year. We put up some lights on the house but we don't even bother turning them on very much.
It seems like it was a short time between Thanksgiving and Christmas...it always does, though this year it seems shorter. We're unenthusiastically running around doing the shopping we've put off until now.
People who are expected for Christmas dinner have yet to give us firm commitments. We're either having eight or twenty ...try planning for that contingency!!
We still haven't done the Christmas cards yet and Christmas is only 10 days away.
I don't know what it will take to get me in the Christmas spirit. Maybe a bottle of dark rum and a half gallon of eggnog!
If you have any extra Christmas spirit throw some this way will ya???!!

I don't know, for some reason we are having the same problem this year! I love christmastime, but for some reason just not into it yet. The snow on the ground helped. Haven't done cards yet either, gotta do that *soon*! Some shopping done. It's weird. Maybe I need to listen to more Xmas music. Eggnog might help :-)

I really do not have the Christmas spirit this year at all. I am not even doing Christmas cards. I have no real family to speak of. My sisters have all passed on, no real ties to anyone. I am awaiting a call back to volunteer at a soup kitchen to pass out dinners to the less fortunate. If that doesn't happen, then I will just hang out here with my horses and goats. Give them their treats of apples and carrots and alfalfa cubes, give my dog a new smoked bone and at least hope that it has the decency to snow, but it really doesn't feel like Christmas this time...

Taking my kids to do their Christmas Shopping this evening. Just hoping they all survive and there is no blood (there was some one year). After that I'll let you know if I find any spirit. :P

If you are trying to cook for that variable a number do something where leftovers can easily be frozen or make something that can be frozen and heated beforehand so you can pop extra in the oven. If anyone asks if they can bring something say Yes!

Default A quiet Christmas, but a grateful one.

It does seem a little more challenging to get into the Christmas spirit this year. My husband is still overseas, but he is safe, comfortable, and coming home soon!

We have a comfortable, lovely home in Maine to look forward to, with a WONDERFUL neighbor and happy renters. 17 months until Maine!

Wishing everyone on the Maine forum (and everyone in Maine) a peaceful, joyous Christmas season and a great 2010!

This year has brought joy and sorrow to our household, yet we embrace the Holidays as a time to reflect and worship Him.
I wish each and everyone a safe and blessed Christmas.

Default Got the Christmas Spirit Yet?

No....I hate Christmas

And my own little village...

Yeah, I have NO Christmas spirit.

I don't have a tree this year but decided to put up my Christmas village for my nephew. He's the only 6 year old kid that will come visit me in my apartment this year. So I didn't want him to think of me as a Scrooge. Gotta GIVE the spirit, even though I may not HAVE the spirit. I'll be away from my son so it's a little harder this year.

I probably should avoid this thread so as not to dampen other people's Christmas spirit, but I think it's gonna pass me by this year.
