If his name starts with R and he's been working there for years, he taught me how to sharpen my blades when I bought my scythe.

Yep. That's him. Smart son of a gun and is in his element when teaching. Just look for the guy who looks like me. Whoops, he's older so I look like him I guess.

European in design.

Assembled in Perry Maine; using an Austrian head, a white ash snath and grip from Eddington Maine.

Scythe....I replaced mine with a Toro weed eater a couple years ago. You just keep string in it and the gas tank filled and it works wonders.

I got that scythe hanging on the garage wall with the other antiques

That's him. He knows his stuff and they make real good equipment. They sell quite a few all over (and I mean ALL OVER) the world. One 70 odd year old woman in Scandanavia somewhere bought 2 for herself a few years back. That's what you call optimism.

A bit ago there was a thread about bears and bear hunting in Maine......I just saw an article in the paper about a woman in Montana who fended off a bear attack by hitting the maurader on the head with a large zuchinni. The bear had attacked her dog.....she kicked it in the chin to get it off the dog it turned on her....she got to the house but the bear was coming in after her....she picked up the zuchinni off the kitchen counter and bopped it on the head and it fled.

Better keep a good sized zuchinni handy on the counter.
