We're not set up to sell yet. Just eat & eat & eat...oink .
Of course, I forgot about that. I never meant to imply that anyone should ever avoid paying their tea stamps and taxes.

I would never advocate that anyone should violate any laws, or fail to give the king his tribute.

Long live the King!

Selling inside the state line requires only state certification. Outside state lines, USDA certification is required.

Thanks for the clarification on certification, Maine Writer.

And FBK, I never imagined that you would wantingly deny taxes to the King!

Too, I feel badly to have whined about having a surplus of meat, when I know that many folks would be more grateful than I. It's a conundrum, or more aptly, just plain poor pork planning to have so much pork lurking about; I am hesitant to give away any of the 2010 meat, though we're eating it and haven't died yet. We'll definitely be selling this year's...

Part of the curse of marrying an accountant, is an awareness of how much we pay in taxes. And methods of reducing our taxes.

We attended MOFGA's 40th anniversary party last night, it was a potluck supper. [Big crowd with lots of food and wine]

I cooked a hind-quarter, and prepare about a gallon of BBQ pulled-pork. It seemed to be a big hit.

We made the offer a month ago at church, that their next potluck we wanted to donate some ribs. I got a call yesterday that they are scheduling a potluck and remembered that we had made an offer. I think we have six racks of ribs in our freezer. One of the ladies has said that she has a pot big enough to hold them for a slow roasting.

There are methods of sharing surplus meat

I just got an email that claims the current round of negotiation and compromise among our state legislators has our state budget requiring a $5Million tax hike to support MaineCare.

I saw a headline in BDN about a new bill and how it would fix things if LePage would accept it.

Is this for real? Or is the guy who sent this to me a kook?

Are we preparing for a tax hike in Maine?
