OK so like many many others today, the economy has affected all of us. For me in particular, it would be my middle son. He lost his job several months back in TX and came home to where some of his family is on the Eastern Shore of MD. He currently is sleeping out of his vehicle which he knows will have to be given back soon and eating as food is available. We have helped finacially as much as we are able and have no more extra funds to give. We still have one (out of 5) child at home who goes to college.

This is NOT to be a pitty party yet a post in an effort to help someone currently in need. That person just happens to be my son.

He is a graduate, 25 years old, talented with his hands, very personable and a hard worker. His best skills currently would be laying flooring (tile, carpet, etc. in a residential OR Commercial setting). We did pre-pay for 1 month of phone service so that we could check on him periodically ~ of course for potential employment purposes as well.

Please post here if:

You have information for potential employment
Resource Center to help the homeless
Resource Center to help the hungry

I want to thank EVERYONE who comes to read my quest for help in advance. Any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated in more ways than you might could even imagine!

I doubt it as he does not have internet access. Thank you for sharing/posting this. I will peak at it for him and see if there is something there.

Again thank you for your help!

I don't know where you are on the shore, but the one I know if is in Salisbury on Mt Hermon Rd. There's probably one on the upper shore as well.

Look into local temp agencies as a way to get some sort of income to allow him to get himself on his feet while he can look for more permanent job solutions

There's a LaborReady office in Dover, about 30 miles from Church Hill. Maybe they'd have something.
