Hello! My husband and I recently found a home we're very interested in, located in Aberdeen. I haven't been able to find many specifics on why Aberdeen has a bad reputation. All the posts I find are at least a few years old. Nothing about specific crimes, specific areas to avoid, etc.The place we found is right off of 22, the Post Rd., Bel Air Ave. area. We were up there this past weekend. Saturday afternoon and Sunday night and it seemed very quiet. Lots of crime watch neighborhood signs and we even saw a guy with a flashlight and vest with reflectors on who seemed to be some sort of neighborhood patrol. Can anybody give me some information on this area and possibly the school that's right up the road, Halls Cross Roads Elementary?

Thanks!

I think you should consider Havre De Grace. I know someone that bought there and is very happy with the schools and their neighborhood. I also know someone that bought in Aberdeen and was very upset with the schools. I like where we live in Newark, but the commute is long.
