Heard on the news that they were going to be out in full force this year but... maybe there's a glimmer of hope around the corner, esp for farmers [tho I hate those stinkers myself], dh read something to me that there are scientists currently working on a non-stinging wasp to counter attack these stink bugs. We'll see...

THere was an article in this weekends Washington Post about it talking about how they'll be back in full force, earlier than last year, and that they are trying out this wasp, but then again they don't want that to become a nuisance either.

Then they can introduce a frog that will eat the wasp, then a snake that will eat the frog, then a mongoose that will eat the snake.............

Maybe they should train old ladies to swallow stink bugs

Note: Only Burl Ives can adequately talk about old ladies dying to children and make it fun!

They are already here. I am finding them in my new, air-tight house that was constructed only 6 months ago!

what with the extremely mild winter we just had, i'm afraid a whole lot of the little devils probably made it through and will be wreaking havoc soon

they've been working on the parasitic wasp project for at least a couple years, but it's time consuming b/c they have to cross-check it against all kinds of other bugs to make sure it won't be more of a problem than a solution.
