Hello everyone! My name is Chelsea and I'm a senior in high school currently living on Long Island, NY.

I am looking to attend a college or university in Maryland, and have been able to visit many different parts of Frederick County and some of the Harve De Grace area. I loved the neighborhood around Hood College in Frederick and felt very safe walking around.

I am also looking at Villa Julie College in Stevenson, MD - but was unable to visit and haven't been able to find any information about the area (crime, surrounding area, etc.)

I am very concerned about the safety and crime rate of the town surrounding where I will be attending and would greatly appreciate any information you have to offer. Thank you!

Stevenson itself is very nice. Upper class homes and lots of horse farms surrounding Villa Julie. It is very nice. They do have off campus housing which they provide shuttles for now in Owings Mills. But there is high crime in OM. The campus where the college is though is not located near the "ghettos" per se and has 24 hour security monitoring the dorms and parking lots. Also near the dorms are a new set of classrooms which makes it convenient. Villa Julie is much safer than Towson as Towson is within the "town" of Towson and near the crime areas. I highly recommend Villa Julie, I loved it and eduction is great. When you do a search, look for Owings Mills also Greenspring Valley, which is the "name" of the area where the main Villa Julie campus is.
