Couldn't be much worse than the current PEPCO management

BGE itself isn't that bad although the KWH rate is a bit higher than PEPCO ( or was). The main complaint down here is service interruptions. In their defense they mostly happen during really bad weather and many times caused by trees falling on lines. Of course, they try to cut the trees back and people howl.

PEPCO has employed Asplundh to trim trees in my neighborhood over the last two fall seasons. The first year, Asplundh butchered a lot of trees. This year, Asplundh has for the most part skipped trimming, choosing instead to take down entire trees. I hope this change in practice pays off this winter.

Regarding Exelon, nearly all of my co-workers are serviced by BGE. They've all complained about the rate hikes and the excessive cost of power. In response to the rate hikes, one of my co-workers, who lives in Harford County, had a geothermal energy system installed. I'd like to move to either northern Maryland or Delaware in 3-4 years. I hope I won't have to consider geothermal energy. It sucks when the utilities in your state don't produce power. It has made all of us a captive audience to out-of-state utilities.
