I am renting a place for a few months in the Severn MD rigdeway/stewart corner area, east of Telegraph road, west of Clark Station road. It is near the rigdeway elementary school. How safe is this area? My parents are in their late sixties, and I wonder if it is OK for them to go out for walks during the day. Please let me know. Thank you.

www.spotcrime.org is a good resource. Compare your current address as well. Lots of military families in that area.

Stewart Corner? I actually had to look it up as I've never heard the area called that. We've lived off Clark Station and Delmont for 23 years, not far from the school. Our kids went to the school, too. The area is safe for walking. You'll see people of all ages walking and jogging all day long. Side walks are limited in some of the neighborhoods but you can safely walk on the side roads. Clark station, I wouldn't walk on. Cars go too fast.
