Choices: If you are a sailor there are some great choices including Rock Hall, Annapolis, St. Michaels and others. If you like the suburban scene Gaithersburg/Quince Orchard/German Town and surrounding communities have malls galore. Hagerstown area offers lots of nearby rolling rural land for those who want to get away from it all. And take a tour down the Western Shore peninsulas on the way to St. Mary's City for some peaceful liv'n communities. If you like high risk living and felony-filled drama Baltimore might be just the spot. But then again, there's Camden Yard and the grilled sausage heros.

How often does somebody ask about north of Baltimore, Baltimore, Carroll, or Harford Counties? You are right. They often overlook the best areas in the state. Like the places you mentioned.

I am always surprised when I go in the City nobody knows anything about northern central Baltimore County.

Drive up York RD, or Deereco Road and say ugly...without getting off their asses and looking.
I love Carroll Co.

I can't get around Carroll County without a car. But yeah, it's nice. I would not want to be a teenager there.

What's in Carroll County? That's a sincere question to anyone who has an opinion. Where should I go if I visit the area?

What a strange list consisting mostly of burbs. Who plans a trip to visit Rockville?
