Pew Research has just released a long piece about political typologies, Beyond Red and Blue. Have only read a little so far.

https://www.pewresearch.org/politics...al-typology-2/

There's also an associated quiz which I took. Apparently, I'm not a "Democratic Mainstay" but an "Establishment Liberal". I suspect that's because I'm an immigrant.

History of the Typology.

Please take the quiz and publish your results,.....honestly.
Liars will be dealt with..........appropriately.....

Ambivalent Right.

Two of the questions were not quite fair as they were binaries difficult to easily answer. For question 2, my answer would be a bit of both. For question 16, my answer is not entirely one or the other.

2. Which of the following statements come closest to your view?
America’s openness to people from all over the world is essential to who we are as a nation
If America is too open to people from all over the world, we risk losing our identity as a nation

16.
In the future, do you think...
U.S. policies should try to keep it so America is the only military superpower
It would be acceptable if another country became as militarily powerful as the U.S.

In reading the surveys and the Political Typology, it's quickly apparent that the Progressive left, only 12% of the voters and even a distinct minority among Democrats, have enormously outsized influence across the party and the media/cultural establishment. And that is where a significant portion of the political tensions originate.

Ambivalent Right. I have always considered myself middle of the road. I guess ambivalent right is close to that.

I suspect the purpose there is to get you to make hard choices.

I'm a "Committed Conservative", although I really, really, really, really dislike Donald Trump and his supporters.

The "Who they are" description at the end of the article describes me almost perfectly, though.

It is an interesting quiz, but I noticed the answers to question #2 about immigration and the question about religion and government toggle my results between all three conservative groups. I guess I am not a great fit for any of them.

Which makes sense.

The biggest "evolution" in my political opinions over the last 4 years as been becoming very skeptical of big business. When billionaires have the money to take vanity space flights while their workers have to wear diapers to avoid being fired, we have a problem. When corporations embraced woke talking points and cancel culture, it is clear they are taking sides in politics, and it sure isn't my side. So, I guess I am best described as "Anti-Left" and excepting Trump himself, any Republican is a better choice for me. It was not always that way.......like as recently as 2018 my ballot was a mix of Republicans, Democrats, and third parties. 2020 was straight ticket with one race left blank because "none of the above" wasn't an option.
