I'm looking for someone who knows how to remove wallpaper from drywall, without tearing up the entire wall. And someone who does a great job painting but doesn't cost a fortune. The above request can be the same person.
The person needs to be legal to employ, have references and be reliable. Also, If you use someone or would like to recommend yourself, please let me know what price range to anticipate... hourly, per room, etc.
Thanks!

We did our own. Just get you a steamer and some goop and get started. Saved about 6,000 by doing our own work.

It's a messy, nasty job which is why it costs so much to have someone else do it.
Wagner tools now makes a wallpaper steamer that you can also use as a steam cleaner. I've got a similar model and it's very good for wallpaper and general cleaning.

After you get the paper off, you can put on an undercoat that smooths out any roughness.

Hi I am a union painter, the scale in Md is almost 25 an hour. Do it yourself and save, get a tool that pokes holes in the paper, then spray a lot of Dif on. It will seep thru the hole and saturate it. Wait and peel. Dif also works wonders on the gluey remanants left on the wall. Buy alot use alot and it is expensive too. Also get a good 6" flexible drywall knife for scraping. Works like a charm.
