I am relocating to the North Shore area. My husband will be working in Danvers, I'll work in Haverhill. We're not sure where to look for housing. We have set a limit of $1600 and are looking for 1200-1500 sq. ft. unfurnished place. Any suggestions where to look and where to stay away from? I have been checking Craig's List, Masslive.com. Where else should I check? Thanks in advance.

Do you have kids/will school system matter? If not, I would recommend looking in Haverhill for the lowest rental price. Bradford & Ward Hill located within Haverhill's borders, and are just defined areas of Haverhill that many from outside the city don't realize. You might also consider North Andover to make the commute to Danvers easier on him (still very doable for your commute, since it borders Haverhill). Amesbury is a great town, and you could make the trip to Haverhill (via 495) in under 30 minutes while he could get to Danvers via Rte 95. Might be the best solution for each of you. Be careful with craigslist postings--many of the rentals are SCAMS. If somebody asks you to send $$ via wire because they (or you) are out of the area, RUN.

I would focus on Danvers and Peabody; several newer apartment communities in both towns.
