Hi all! I am moving from Grove to Varney St. in a few months in Lowell. I was wondering what your perspectives are about the Varney St. area of Lowell. It's considered the Acre and I've heard bad things. What do you guys think?

Have heard the same things you've heard. It might also depend on if you're female or male (different crime concerns) and if you walk to your business or drive, what hours you are out, etc.

Trying to remember the exact area. Is it over by the "new " Market Basket? Off of Broadway area? If so I would be hard pressed to recommend it. That area is VERY sketchy. I love Lowell but that is one of the few areas that would make me nervous.
