My family (2 Teachers, 2 elementary children, and a 2 year old) are planning a move back to my wife's area in MA (originally from Taunton). We have spent the last 11 years teaching HS Science in Inner City San Bernardino.

We would like to find a home in the high 200's / low 300's as we would like to have my wife stay home at least for the first couple of years to assist with the stress of moving. Many of our family is located in Taunton so we would like to be close. I will be job hunting and figuring I should be able to get a job in Boston or Fall River so somewhere within a 45-1hr max commute.

We are looking for suggestions for towns or cities that would be good for us. If you have any suggestions please reply!

Thanks

Well, your housing budget is probably a little low, but the house values are a bit depressed close to Taunton. Taunton does not have good schools, I'd look in Rehoboth and see if there's anything there?

Also check Norton, West Bridgewater, Lakeville, Freetown, Dighton and Berkeley. Keep in mind that most of the jobs will be closer to Boston rather than Fall River, so Norton or WB will be more ideal in that regard.
