Retiring from the Air Force after 21 years and my wife retired 2 years ago after 21 yrs as well. I am from New Bedford, MA and that is where all my family lives. I am a IT Project Manager by trade and imagine most of those IT type jobs will put me closer to Boston. Where is a great place to live with about an hours commute?
One option is to live in New Bedford/Dartmouth area and then hopefully find a job in Providence area. Hoping to find a job before I leave here (currently living in Kansas City, MO). Retirement is about 1 - 1.5 yrs away but trying to get ahead of the game. Thanks for any advice/help.

I would suppose with military background you will end up working for one of our defense companies up here. Besides the giants BAE and Raytheon, there are dozens of others and also many civilians working at Hanscom Air Force base. The majority of those companies are located in Nashua, Billerica, Bedford, Woburn, Tewksbury, Andover, Burlington, Lexington. If I were you I would live anywhere within the boundary of Southern New Hampshire to highway 93 down to route 95/128 to route 2. Happy house hunting and welcome back to Massachusetts.
