Hi everyone!

I am getting ready to enbark on my first relocation ever in my life-I am moving with my husband and 3 year old son to my husband's home state of MA due a job change and I am scared and excited at the same time!! I have visited MA many times and think it is a beautiful place, but any tips/info/feedback anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated as I need all the help I can get!! I will be there in the next couple of weeks and we decided to settle in Sturbridge so again any specific info about the town itself would be great too!!

Thanks!!

I live in Sturbridge! What Street did you buy your house on? Sturbridge has a good school system and alot of sports activities for children. It is one of the best towns in the area for schools, services and quality of life. We have some nice restaurants like Rovezzi's, Perrenials, publick House and Sturbridge bread co. Great full service Liquor store called Yankee spirits ( vote no on question 1). Library is very good and has many activities. I can tell you more if you PM me.

Congrats to you and your family on your move to MA, Laura.
You didn't mention where in MI you're coming from. I too relocated, from NW Ohio, to be with my husband who's from New England originally.
I've been here for two years now and love it.
The best advise I've recieved from a Bay Stater was this; People here seem hard to befriend. It seems to take forever to earn trust and friendship. But, with time, a bonding relationship that grows deep roots developes. Once you've made a friend in MA you have a friend forever.

PaulaProc, couldn't of said it betta (that's how we New Englanders say it) myself! We take our time getting to know you, but its true, once you've made a friend in NE, they'd help you with anything you need. New England Rocks! Can't wait to get back.

Just a suggestion regarding schools...if you plan on staying in Sturbridge through the high school years, you might want to see what parents are saying about the local schools on www.greatschools.net or com. There isn't a high school in Sturbridge but in the neighboring town.

Oops, my mistake. When I looked at the GreatSchools website, I couldn't find a high school listed in Sturbridge. Never mind.
